The Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) is looking for temporary Examination Assistants and Quality Assurers to help out during the 2025 academic year. Here’s what you’ll be doing:
Examination Assistants
• You’ll be receiving, checking, controlling, and scanning exam scripts every day.
• You’ll be packing the scripts for marking and making sure there are the right number of scripts and marksheets in each batch, subject, paper, and exam session.
• You’ll need to keep an eye out for any problems with the scripts, marksheets, or exams and make sure everything’s in order.
Quality Assurers
• You’ll be receiving, controlling, and distributing scripts to the marking teams.
Hey there! Just a friendly reminder to double-check that all questions are marked and the totals are accurate. Also, make sure the marks are correctly transferred to the front covers and mark sheets. Lastly, after marking, please reconcile and archive the scripts.

Required Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following qualifications and experience criteria:
• Matric or Equivalent NQF Level 4 Qualification: You must have completed matric or hold an equivalent qualification.
Hey there! If you’re a tertiary student, you’re in luck! You can apply for this exciting opportunity. However, if you’re writing National Senior Certificate/Senior Certificate and AET Examinations in 2025, you won’t be able to apply.
Now, while experience isn’t a strict requirement, having worked as an Examination Assistant or Quality Assurer would be a huge plus. It’ll give you a solid foundation in the field.
