NEDBANK Opportunities for young people 18-29 years.

Hey there! Our people deal, or what we call our unique agreement, is all about balancing our people’s promises. It’s a pact between Nedbank and its amazing team.

The difference starts with you

The future is shaped by what we do today. Every second counts, and every action we take determines what comes next. How will your individual choices impact our collective future? The choice to be the difference is yours. It all starts with you.

If you believe money can do more than just change hands, that money can change lives, then you have what it takes to be the difference. Pursue your passion for purpose, and the chance to make a positive impact. Discover that results are the reward, and show interest regardless of the returns. Because the difference goes beyond expectations, even their own, and goes beyond better, to give their all. The difference finds that potential is limitless, and strength lies in diversity, and power in unity. The difference starts with one person. And that person is you. Be a force for good. Add your unique skills to make Nedbank an even better place to work. Be the difference that makes a difference in the world.

Supporting young talent

At Nedbank, we believe in using our financial expertise to make a positive impact by helping young talent pursue their academic dreams. The Nedbank External Bursary Programme aims to fund academically talented students who don’t have the financial means to study full-time towards a first undergraduate degree or diploma at a South African public university or university of technology. Bursaries are awarded to address skills gaps and future needs in South Africa, with a specific focus on the financial sector.

We recommend you take a look at the job description and Nedbank’s info before your interview. If you’re feeling up for it, you might even get invited to more interviews. Our interview teams usually include the hiring manager, HR, and other managers who are looking at the open position. If you’re invited for an in-person interview, we’ll send you more details about the location and how long the interview will be. Most of our interview questions are behavioural, which means we’ll ask you to give us specific examples of actions you’ve taken in the past. To prepare for your interview, think back to your experiences and be ready to share what you did, why you did it, what the result was, and what you learned.

For many of our available jobs, we also have an assessment. Depending on the role, the assessment might happen before, during, or after the interview, and it could be online or in person. If the position requires an assessment, we’ll let you know and give you the instructions during the recruitment process. Nedbank does what’s called “pre-employment” verification checks. These can include things like criminal background checks, driving record checks, education verification, employment verification, reference checks, and more. Before we do any of these background checks, we’ll ask for your written consent and permission.

So, we’re all set to make you an offer!

Hey there! After you’ve completed all the necessary steps and documents, our recruiting team will reach out to confirm your start date. Your manager will also get in touch to share more details, including your start time. If you’re currently working or have other commitments, please let the recruiter and hiring manager know your availability throughout the process.

Before your first day, you’ll have the chance to complete some onboarding activities in our HR system, SuccessFactors. These include reviewing your personal information, providing emergency contact details, and choosing your employee benefits (depending on your contract). During this time, you’ll also meet your buddy, who’ll be your go-to person for the first few weeks and months at Nedbank. They’ll also be the one who meets you at one of our receptions on your first day. Your line manager will help you connect with your co-workers and customers, and they’ll introduce you to the key responsibilities of your new role.
